Ismail Kadare

Ismail Kadare was born in Gjirokastër, January 28th 1936, and he has recently won the Prince of Asturias Awards of Literature [2009] due to the beauty of his work and his deep compromise with literature“.

The prize was not a surprise, specially because he’s a world wide famous writer and poet and because he has been a candidate for the Nobel Prize of literature several times.
No doubt about it: he’s the most famous albanian writer. In fact I’m not able to write down another albanian writer.
