[...] TIRANA: Qemal Stafa stadium: the field where the albanian national team and all Tirana’s football teams play: Partizan Tirana, KF Tirana and Dinamo Tirana. As we can expect is the biggest one of Albania with a capacity for 24.600 people. But the stadium should be past in two years from now because Albanian’s government plans to build a new one in honor to the 100 years of Albania’s independence. Tirana has another stadium, owned by KF Tirana, which is Selman Stërmasi stadium, that holds 12.500 people. Untill last year, all Tirana teams that we’ve just mencioned, played there, but nowadays non of them plays here. GJIROKASTËR: Luftëtari’s stadium named Subi Bakiri holds 8.500 people, but sadly nowadays is not able to see first division matches because this historical team plays in second division for the last 4 years. Luckily we saw people with scarfs showing support… We have to say that usually the stadium has grass but during our trip through Albania we saw lot of stadiums without grass… they were all changing it. ERSEKE: Erseke is a little town in the east where Gramozi Erseke plays. This modest team played last year (2009/10) in the first division thanks to the support of the local people and the investment of Taçi oil’s owner. Last year they’ve played a friendly match against Real Madrid as well! We have to say that thanks to our friend K-Say (a US volunteer that we met there) there are lot of women enjoying its matches (and playing football in Erseke), breaking sex barriers/taboos! KORÇE: This is the most important city in eastern albania where Skenderbeu Korçe plays. The stadium holds 10.000 people and as we said there’s usually natural grass on it. (in the photo another typical albanian souvenir a Mercedes car) KRUJE: And finally, the stadium where Kastrioti Kruje plays… as we can see some neighbours have great views! We have to say that we saw Flamurtari’s Vlorë stadium as well which it has like a little shopping mall stucked in the stadium and Vllaznia’s Shkodër stadium which remainds me FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou stadium (not so big, of course)… but we don’t have good pictures of them.
